ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible to submit a Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)/Graduate Record Examinations General Test (GRE) test waiver request, you must:
Be aligned with Tuck’s values and admissions criteria,
Have a minimum of two years of post-graduate professional work experience, and,
Qualify for our English Language Proficiency test waiver if you are a non-native English speaker. Applicants not qualifying for the ELP test waiver will not be considered for a GMAT/GRE waiver.
GMAT/GRE test waiver requests are due before submitting the application and by the appropriate deadline indicated in the GMAT/GRE test waiver request deadlines table on Applying to Tuck. Requests submitted after any test waiver deadline will not be reviewed. GMAT/GRE test waivers are not renewable and must be requested for each admissions cycle.
EVALUATION
The admissions committee will consider indicators of quantitative competency, academic prowess, and professional accomplishment, including but not limited to the following:
Strong undergraduate record (undergraduate degree) in a quantitative academic discipline or strong performance in undergraduate quantitative coursework. This includes but is not limited to, courses and majors/minors like mathematics, statistics, econometrics, quantitative/mathematical economics, mathematical/quantitative/computational finance, financial engineering/modeling, quantitative/mathematical/analytical accounting, computer/data science, physics, actuarial science, computer/electrical/mechanical/aerospace engineering, etc.
Strong graduate record (graduate degree) in a quantitative academic discipline or strong performance in graduate quantitative coursework like the above courses.
At least two years of post-graduate professional work experience in a role that demonstrates the practical application of quantitative and analytical skills and concepts, such as data analysis, statistical modeling, financial forecasting, or other related functions in a professional context.
We will use your resume, unofficial copies of your degree-granting undergraduate and graduate transcripts, and/or any proof of professional certifications, designations, or non-degree coursework to evaluate your academic readiness for the quantitative rigors of the Tuck MBA.
Candidates who present a strong profile across all these dimensions (including supporting materials) are more likely to be granted a GMAT/GRE test waiver. Given the importance of the GMAT/GRE in the admissions evaluation process, we will apply a very critical review when granting waivers. Denial of a waiver is not a reflection of your admissibility to the Tuck MBA or an indicator that we do not believe you will be successful in the program. It simply means that we would like to see the additional data point of a test score to fully evaluate your candidacy.
GMAT/GRE test waiver requests will be reviewed as they are received, and you will receive a response via email within 10-12 business days from the date you submitted your request. For more information, see the GMAT/GRE Test Waiver Request section of our FAQs.
